Self-adhesive discs (or Velcro discs) are sanding discs made from sandpaper with a special material called Velcro on the back. This material allows the disc to be easily attached to a support.
Velcro sanding wheels are used for both manual sanding and on hand-held grinders or grinding machines. These wheels are widely used in the furniture, metalworking, automotive, and other industries.

To perform various jobs, grinding wheels can have a special structure, such as a semi-open or closed coating, a stearate coating, or a high-strength and flexible film base, depending on the area of application.
Self-adhesive abrasive wheels are typically made from high-quality abrasive paper or cloth backings. However, other materials can also be used. In recent years, wheels with high-strength film backings have become widely used in the automotive industry for body painting. These backings offer increased tensile strength and high moisture resistance.

The Abraflex product line, in addition to the standard VAD series self-adhesive discs, also includes the VAD-F discs with a film backing and the VAD-LP discs with a latex paper backing. These discs are specifically designed for processing paints, varnishes, putties, and primers.
Cost-effectiveness in high-volume use of self-engaging grinding wheels is achieved by selecting the optimal wheel for each material based on its hardness and toughness, as well as by selecting the correct wheel grit for pre-grinding, fillet grinding, and polishing.
Abraflex offers self-locking discs in various sizes, with or without different numbers of dust extraction holes, for use with all types of standard grinding machines.
