Testing cutting wheels on angle grinders
When testing cutting wheels, certain regulations must be followed.
Preparing for the tests
- Samples of cutting wheels must be of the same geometric dimensions (outer diameter of the cutting wheel, height (thickness) of the cutting wheel, and the mounting hole of the cutting wheel)
- The workpiece (rebar, sheet metal, channel, pipe, I-beam, etc.) must be of the same size and the same chemical and physical composition.
- The angle grinder must meet all technical requirements (absence of runout, declared technical characteristics)
Testing cutting wheels
- Take photos and videos
- Record the time of one cut
- Record the time of the entire working cycle of the cutting wheel
- Visual control of the pressure force on the circle
- Visual inspection of bends during operation of the cutting wheel
- Control of cutting wheel runout
- Control of cutting wheel clogging
- The cutting wheel will work until it is completely worn out.
Recording the results of testing cutting wheels on an angle grinder
- Measuring the final diameter of the cutting wheel
- Counting the number of cuts
- Information from a person who tested the cutting wheel regarding vibration and clogging of the cutting wheel.
